North Cyprus
Cyprus is the third largest island in the mediterranean. The name may have been derived from the Latin for copper ."cuprus".which was extensively mined here for centuries by the Romans and their successors on the island .Since Cyprus lies at the cross-roads of three continents ,it has been conquered and ruled by many civillizations ,whose historical remains may still be explored .Over 300 days of the sunshine and an average sea temperture of 21c combined with magnificent beaches ,fascinating sub-aqua , a great diversity of flora and fauna ,remarkable historical sites and rich cuisine all help to make any holiday spent here an unforgetable one. North cyprus has so much offer to its visitors.
Kyrenia Girne is fascinating town on the northern coast of North Cyprus .Its horse-shoe shaped harbor with the backdrop of the Beþparmak montains helps to make Girne one of the most beatiful areas on the island .The old harbour is bordered by what used to be Carob Warehouses but which are now cafes, restaurants and bars.Fishing boats ,colorful yachts and excursion boats are moored in this pretty spot and at the east of kyrenia harbour is the castle .A truly magnificent edifince where the remains of a 4th century cargo boat and its cargo of amphorae are displayed.
